  • Buy local for holiday gifts

    Kay Chamberlain, Wah. Co. Eagle|Sep 22, 2011

WARM WEEKEND--After some rain last weekend, it looks like things are heating up this week and it will feel more like Summer than most of Summer felt. So, when Fall officially starts this Friday, we'll be basking in temperatures in the 80s they say, so it's not time to put away the sun screen quite yet. The rain last weekend didn't make those with outdoor plans too happy, but I'm sure all the plants enjoyed the drink and it helped lower our fire danger in the woods, so it was really a good thing. With time ticking away, that batch of rain we...

At recent meetings, Manager Dave Trambie had outlined his request for a 9 percent rate increase for electric customers. After...

  • High praise for fair

    Sep 22, 2011

To The Eagle: I want to say thanks, Wahkiakum, for a great fair. Sorry I'm a little late with this but better late than never. The whole fair looked wonderful. It was such a fun time seeing old friends like Patty and Gordon, Lore and Sharon and my old 4-H leader Veryl Chamberlain. It was also fun to make new friends, such as Phil and Ivy Lou Vik. I would like to thank Kay and Daria for helping out with open horses at the...

Next year, try to bring five more exhibits to show at the fair. There will be more exhibits at our fair to look at and even more premium dollars sent your way. A county fair wouldn't be very interesting if we didn't have all the animals, grown items and handmade crafts you bring in to exhibit. Thank you for helping make our fair a success again! If you purchased a horse...
