The Morton/White Pass Timberwolves handed the Wahkiakum Mules a 12-0 loss late Friday in Central League football. The Timberwolves took a 6-0 lead at 9:07 of the second quarter. Quarterback Rylon Kolb scored on a short run from less than a yard out. The Mules blocked the extra point conversion. The Wahkiakum Mule volleyball team opened the season with a 3-0 sweep of the visiting Winlock Cardinals on Tuesday. The Mules won 25-12, 25-16. Adrian G. Weedman, 63, of Port Angeles passed away September 6, 2011 at Olympic Medical Center. He was born on July 7, 1948 in Longview to H. Ray and Irene (Gourde) Weedman. In a special meeting on Monday, The Cathlamet Town Council adopted a resolution establishing that all normal fiscal management functions of the Cathlamet Fire Department shall be performed by town staff. Wahkiakum County may soon restore the position of emergency management coordinator. The position would be responsible for developing emergency response plans for the county and for coordinating the county's response in emergencies.
