    The Wahkiakum Mules volleyball team split non-league games this week with a loss at home and a win on the road. Last Thursday, in their first home game of the season, the Lady Mules faced a tough Napavine team and lost in three sets, 13-25, 8-25, and 20-25. "We couldn't find a solid rhythm tonight," Coach Kayli Hurley said.     The Wahkiakum Mules came on strong in the second half to defeat the visiting Ocosta Wildcats 34-7 last Friday in a non-league football game. After a scoreless first quarter, the Mules took the lead at 9:29 of the second quarter. KC Beery caught a pass from Lucas Brown for an 18-yard touchdown. L. Brown passed to Zach Brown for the conversion and an 8-0 lead.   • Mini Mules score win

    The Wahkiakum Mini Mules won their season opener against A+ transmission from Longview by a score of 28-26. The Mini Mule train was led by Zakk Williams with four rushing touchdowns and Quincy Evans had two extra point kicks which proved to be the difference maker. Defense was tough causing five turnovers. Zakk Williams, Nathan Garrett and Grant Wilson each had a fumble recovery.
