    The Washington Department of Natural Resources and US Fish and Wildlife Service are preparing to gather input on their updated proposed amendments to their long-term conservation strategies for the marbeled murrelet. The endangered sea bird nests on large limbs in old trees anywhere within a 55-mile range of the ocean, and the agencies' plan would govern timber harvest and related activities in habitat on lands managed by the agencies, including timber trust land benefitting Wahkiakum and Pacific counties.     The Adna Pirates aren't ranked first in the Associated Press Class 2B football poll for nothing: They're a good team. The Pirates took it to the Wahkiakum Mules for a 34-0 victory last Friday. At a La Center meet last Wednesday, high school and middle school athletes ran a 1.5 mile course. Eighth grader Kaiden Ray, the sole Warrior runner, came in 42nd in a field of 56.
