    Pacific County Health and Human Services will begin accepting applications from individuals for rental assistance on Monday in a project supported by a grant awarded by US Department of the Treasury. Grant funds are administered by the Local Government Coronavirus Relief Fund through the Washington State Department of Commerce. This funding source ends December 31 or once funds are spent, whichever occurs first.     To help prevent wildfires, the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) has temporarily banned the discharge of firearms for target-shooting or other purposes by anyone not engaged in lawful hunting effective last Saturday. This ban applies to 3 million acres of DNR-managed lands which include state forests, community forests, and forested state lands.     The Wahkiakum County Port 1 Board of Commissioners met briefly last Thursday to go over a few issues and schedule a budget and rate workshop.
