The state’s fourth annual Death with Dignity Act report released June 20 shows that 104 people who were dispensed lethal doses of medication in 2012 are known to have died. The report confirms at least 83 of the participants died after taking the medication in 2012, when 121 people in Washington requested and received the medication. Snake and Columbia River juvenile salmon and steelhead are getting assistance on their way to the ocean. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers transitioned from spring to summer fish operations beginning on June 16 at Bonneville Dam, June 20 at McNary Dam, June 21 at Lower Snake River dams and will continue that transition through July 1 at The Dalles and John Day dams. We have had an almost wonderful visit with our nephew and niece from Yucca Valley, California this past week. I say “almost” because our well decided to give us some problems.
