    Lower Columbia College’s 83rd annual Commencement will take place on Friday, June 21 at 6:30 p.m., at Kelso High School’s Schroeder Field. This year’s Commencement speaker is Dr. Tonya Drake. Dr. Drake has been the chancellor of WGU Washington since 2018. Approximately 415 LCC students are expected to participate in the ceremony, which is a celebration of degree and certificate student completers in addition to those earning their high school diplomas.   • Extension offering class on flower entries

    Washington State University Extension Master Gardeners are offering a class on tips for entering flowers and flower arrangements in county fairs. On June 25 at 6 p.m., two floral judges, Pat Huson and Jean Davolt, will pass on "secret" tips to give a winning edge. Davolt will demonstrate how to create winning arrangements with a line design and vertical design. Huson will explain the basics on entering flowers and arrangements into the fair for judging.
