    As I sit here writing this column, I’m more than a little sore after a wonderful weekend with our kids in central Oregon and our oldest son and his family from California.   • Church workshop aims to protect children

    St. James Episcopal Church will be hosting a workshop entitled Safeguarding God's Children on June 12, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., presented by Sally Barnes.
