    The Voters’ Pamphlet Art Contest, which ends June 15, is sponsored by the Secretary of State’s Elections Division. To submit an entry, contestants must be enrolled at a Washington college, community college, university, trade school or professional school, and be eligible to vote by this fall’s General Election. All two-dimensional artwork, including paintings, drawings, photography and computer-generated art, will be accepted.     Washington state’s first joint wetland and fish habitat bank was signed into operation May 5. This landmark event certifies that the 302-acre mitigation bank along the Coweeman River will now protect wetland functions and create habitat for several life-stages of salmon. The Washington Department of Ecology and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (Corps) have certified the Coweeman River Mitigation Bank to operate in the Lower Columbia River floodplain and the Cowlitz River watershed.     Cookin’ Country 105.5, KUKN has announced the latest acoustic concert in their New Faces of Nashville concert series. Cold River Record’s Drew Baldridge will perform on Monday, May 16 at 7 p.m., at the Columbia Theatre in Longview.     The Wahkiakum Mules baseball team took one step closer to the state tournament with an 8-2 district win against Life Christian on Tuesday in Adna. James Anderson took the mound in the third inning and earned the win. He pitched nearly three innings, striking out five and allowing one hit.     The Wahkiakum Mule track and field team finished out the regular season competing against eight other teams in the Pacific 1B/2B meet in Naselle last Thursday. The Mules took third place in the men's competition with 48 points and the Lady Mules took second place in women's competition with 161 points.
