The Southwest Washington Workforce Development Council (SWWDC) is accepting public comment on its draft Strategic Workforce Plan for 2016-2020. Once finalized, the new plan will guide regional solutions for workforce development. The plan is available for review at www.swwdc.org for 30 days beginning May 2. Marcia Elaine Fauver, 82, died on April 28, 2016 in Longview. Marcia was born on February 25, 1934 to H. Albert and Hulda (Tihila) Harrison in Rosburg. She was raised on a farm there with her brother, George Harrison and sister, Kathleen Haataja, who preceded her in death. She attended school in Rosburg and Naselle before marrying Robert Fauver and moving to their farm in Deep River. They raised their four children there, where Marcia loved homemaking. Robert Wayne Kerstetter, lifelong Cathlamet resident, died on his 68th birthday, in Vancouver,WA. Bob was born to G.R. and Mildred (Swanson) Kerstetter on April 27, 1948 in Longview. He graduated from Wahkiakum High School in 1966 and attended Yakima Valley College and WSU. In 1972 he began a long career in the grocery business when he went to work for Doumit’s Grocery. Anna A. Wages, 64, of Cathlamet, died April 28, 2016 at St. John Medical Center. She was born April 5, 1952 in Elma, to Joseph and Betty (Williams) Harner. In 1970 she graduated from Montesano High School. She moved to Cathlamet in 1996 and married Lee Wages on April 11, 1996. The cheerleaders at Wahkiakum High School are planning to give the community a colorful start to summer with the Colorumbia River Run and Summer Kickoff Party. Last week, Gary Howell was sworn in as undersheriff for the Wahkiakum County Sheriff's Office. Howell has been with the department since February 2003, most recently as sergeant. The Wahkiakum Mule golf team shot 200 and moved their intra-conference season record to 21-7 with wins over North Beach 213 and a short handed Ilwaco team that included two girls.
