    With our number one senior golfer Elliot Haney visiting Carnegie Mellon University, Wahkiakum Mule freshman Bryce Good had to fly solo April 23 after a 3-hour drive through a driving rainstorm on the way to Ocean Shores.     The Wahkiakum Mule Track and Field team traveled to Kalama on Friday to compete against 13 other teams representing 1A, 2A, 3A, 4A and 2B schools in the Kalama Twilight meet. The boys team did not score any points and did not place, while the girls team took 13th place with seven points. Cheyenne Barton placed eighth in the 400 meters with a time of 1:07.31.     Last week in Toledo, the Wahkiakum Mule baseball team suffered two losses to the Indians while the softball team won both of their games. Terris Record pitched all eight innings in the first game of the double header and took the loss, 2-3. He struck out six and had one earned run.   • Children's Theatre returns to Cathlamet

    John C. Thomas middle school teacher Tina Merz stepped into the role of organizer this year in order to bring the Missoula Children's Theatre back to the Wahkiakum School District. Merz, a native Montanan, participated in MCT as a child and felt a special connection to the program, which had a brief interruption in its visits to Cathlamet when former teacher and organizer, Linda Wright, retired.
