    Razor clam diggers can look forward to a six-day opening starting yesterday (April 26) on various ocean beaches and will have an increased daily limit of 25 clams at Long Beach. The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) has approved the dig on morning tides at four ocean beaches after toxin test results show the clams on those beaches are safe to eat. State shellfish managers agreed to increase the daily limit for this dig at Long Beach, which has been closed much of the razor clam season due to elevated marine toxin levels, said...

    Adventure awaits this summer for young people who can explore the area’s trails, water and animals at camps through Lewis and Clark National Historical Park. The two weeklong camps feature exciting overnight opportunities. Nature Adventure Camp, held July 10-14, offers a week’s worth of adventures at the park and nearby, as well as an overnight in Fort Clatsop.     The Care Careers Academy will offer a state approved Home Care Aide training program encompassing 75 hours of instruction. The course includes 50 hours of caregiver Core Basic online instruction that students can access at home, and live classes of Dementia, Mental Health and a hands-on skills building lab.     The Wahkiakum Mules baseball team swept Kalama in a doubleheader last Thursday. The two wins brought their league record to 10-2 and maintained their tie for first place with Napavine in the Central 2 B league. The Mules won the first game 4-2. James Anderson pitched all seven innings and got the win. He allowed two hits, two runs, and struck out 11. On offense, Zach Brown's sacrifice hit in the second inning brought in two runs.     The Mules traveled to Surfside to play defending state champion Ilwaco and lost a tough match 175-190. After beating a short handed Ilwaco last week by 14 strokes, the Fishermen had a full squad present Thursday to turn the tables on the Mules. On April 19, the team traveled to Napavine to compete against seven other schools in a Central 2B meet. The Mules earned 28 points and tied for seventh place in boys’ competition and took fourth place with 107.5 points in girls’ competition. Freshman K.C.
