    Competing at their first in-person tournament in more than two years, the Lower Columbia College Fighting Smelt Speech and Debate Team earned several awards and other honors at Phi Rho Pi Nationals in St. Charles, MO. Phi Rho Pi is the national forensic association representing two-year colleges. Its weeklong national tournament is considered the premier end of season speech and debate competition for community college students.   • Comets crush Ravens 12-0

    Comet right-hander Kolten Lindstrom started on the mound against the Raymond/South Ravens last Thursday afternoon and was literally unhittable as he struck out seven, and did not give up a hit or a run in three complete innings of work. Naselle's offense did the rest as they put up 12 runs against the Ravens and won the contest 12-0 in 5 innings. The Comets go to 5-1 and are proving to be one of the toughest 1B teams in the state.
