  • Farm market seeks vendors for 2011 season

    The Two Islands Farm Market is preparing to open for the 2011 season on May 6. The market will be open every Friday from 3-6:30 p.m. and will feature local vendors presenting their Wahkiakum grown or produced products. All returning vendors and new vendors interested in having a booth at the farmer's market are invited to an informational meeting on April 17 at 7 p.m. at Stockhouse's Farm, 62 W. Birnie Slough Road.   • Relay for Life breakfast aims to raise funds

    Breakfast at Applebee’s is being served on April 30, as a fund raiser for the American Cancer Society’s Cowlitz/Wahkiakum Relay For Life. An all-you-can-eat breakfast of sausage, pancakes, coffee, juice and other beverages will be served from 8 a.m.-10 a.m. Applebee’s is located in the Triangle Shopping Center in Longview.     April 30 marks the date for the 35th annual Spring Salad Luncheon held by the Priscilla Circle of the Naselle Lutheran Church. "Farm Fresh," this year's theme, will be used throughout the event, which will feature a garden area with Alfred Simukka's tomato plants totalling well over 500 and other starts to add to Spring planting.
