  • Mules sweep Pirates in doubleheader

    David McNally, Wah. Co. Eagle|Apr 4, 2013

The Wahkiakum Mules brothers Lars and Gunnar Blix combined to stifle the visiting Adna Pirates last Thursday in a pair of Central 2B League games, winning the opener 6-2 before taking the nightcap 4-0. The Pirates jumped on the scoreboard early, scoring both of their runs in the first inning of game one on five base hits. That proved to be as much damage as the Pirates would do, however, as the Blix Brothers collectively allowed just three hits over the final 13 innings. At the plate, Lars Blix...

    Kay Chamberlain, Wah. Co. Eagle|Apr 4, 2013

NICE EASTER--In spite of Easter falling in March this year, and our March weather not really known for being all that great, it just so happened that this year, the Easter weekend was absolutely gorgeous and in some places, sent new records for their temperatures clear into the 80's! I saw lots of pink skin as everyone was sporting shorts and sleeveless tops and soaking up those rays, while they mowed lawns, washed cars or went fishing on the river. It was truly an awesome few days! As of Monday evening however, I felt the light rain begin and...

  • Johnson Park a very busy facility

    Trudy Fredrickson, Wah. Co. Eagle|Apr 4, 2013

Wow, the sunshine has been wonderful. I even had the opportunity to mow the lawn over the weekend. Lots of other folks were doing the same, and the smell of new mown grass was in the air. Unfortunately, after the first mowing, you really have to keep up with the fast growing grass on a regular basis. Oh well, it’s actually relaxing to sit on the mower for a few hours and see the progress as you cut the tall grass. News from Naselle: Naselle-Grays River Valley students will be back in the classroom on April 8 after a week off for Spring b...
