    Many property owners in Washington are not aware that they may be required by law to collect and remit retail sales tax, and possibly other lodging taxes, if they rent out their homes for periods of less than 30 days.   • WDFW approves morning razor clam digs starting April 4

    State shellfish managers have approved a weeklong series of razor clam digs starting April 4 at four ocean beaches. The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) confirmed the digs after marine toxin tests showed the clams on those beaches are safe to eat. All of the digs are scheduled on morning tides. No digging will be allowed on any beach after noon.   • Daily limit for hatchery steelhead will increase on lower Cowlitz River

    According to the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) Cowlitz River anglers may retain up to three hatchery steelhead, effective April 1, until further notice. This limit is effective on the Cowlitz River from boundary markers at the mouth upstream to 400 feet (or posted markers) below the Cowlitz Salmon Hatchery barrier dam.
