    Two games were postponed this week due to weather, but on Monday the Wahkiakum Mules baseball team played despite the rain. They added another win to their record, which now stands at 4-0 in league, 4-1 overall. On Monday, the Mules beat the Rainier Mountaineers 15-5 on the road.     The Wahkiakum High School track team joined four other schools in Kalama last Thursday for their first Class 2B meet of the season. The Mule girls and boys teams placed third and fifth, respectively. The girls finished with 78 points and the boys finished with 14. Mule girls garnered five first place wins in the track and field events. Junior Macie Elliott won the 400 meters with a time of 1:04.08.     Washington State University is bringing the third of five candidates for a new position as elk hoof disease research leader to Olympia for a public presentation today (Thursday). The presentation is set for 9 a.m. in the South Puget Sound Community College Lecture Hall, Room 105, 2011 Mottman Rd. SW, in Olympia.     Wahkiakum Health & Human Services is slowly bringing their new quarters, tentatively called the Hope House, into operation. Last summer, the congregation of the United Church of Christ, Congregational, disbanded and donated their church building and parsonage to Health & Human Services so that it would benefit the people of Wahkiakum County.     Photos courtesy of Wahkiakum High School Four works created by Wahkiakum High School art students were selected to join an exhibition in the 2018 ESD 112 Regional High School Art Competition Exhibit. The event is in its 45th year. Freshman Hannah Musick and sophomore Zak Kennedy's compositions were done in repousse, a kind of metalwork where the design is created using a hammer on the back of a piece.
