    The Naselle-Grays River Valley School District Board of Directors met for its monthly meeting on March 17. The board approved the resignations of the following staff: Toni Smith, assistant cook; Tina Verhulst, bus driver, and Sean McNulty, cross-county coach. The board approved one year leave replacements for Seth Scrabeck, assistant fastpitch coach, and Karl Johnson, drama director.   • Seal River Cemetery clean up day is set for May 16

    The Seal River Cemetery Clean-Up Day has been scheduled for Saturday, May 16, beginning at 10 a.m. We'd like to ask people to remove any items of value from gravesites before April 1 so the 1-2 mows of the season can be done quickly. Many hands make light work if anyone wants to join us for Clean-Up Day.   • Sharon's Pizza joins United Way effort

    Sharon's Pizza and More of Cathlamet will join other restaurants and cafés in Wahkiakum and Cowlitz counties in donating part of their Saturday proceeds to the United Way. The day is called "Dine Out for United Way." The proceeds will benefit non-profit agencies in the two counties. United Way has long supported St. James Family Center in Cathlamet, which uses the funding for its pre-school and child care programs.     The Wahkiakum Mule golf team opened their 2015 season last week short handed but made the most of it. Senior Elliot Haney shot a 38 to tie Ilwaco's Kenneth Sheldon for medalist in a match with former 1A power house golf programs Life Christian Academy, 167 team score, and Ilwaco, 178. Haney led by one stroke going into the last hole but blew a nine iron over the green from 145 yards, winding up with an unlikely bogey that resulted in the draw.     The Wahkiakum Mules baseball team finished one game of a double header before it began to rain on Friday. They beat Mossyrock 6-4. Zac Brown pitched a complete game, striking out 15 batters, though the Vikings were able to get five hits off of him. Joey Moore was 2-3 at bat. Luke Brown went 1-3 at bat and drove in one run.
