    Registration is open now for Wahkiakum Youth Baseball including children ages 4-12. Games will be played starting April 12 through the end of May. Registration may be done online at www.longviewyouthbaseball.com. Also, flyers have been sent home from school or are available on the Wahkiakum Youth Baseball facebook page.   • Courts to resume jury trials

    Wahkiakum County Courts (Superior Court, District Court, and County Clerk) continue to monitor the COVID-19 pandemic, and to collaborate with state and local officials to ensure the health and safety of those using the court system. Jury trials will resume in March for both Superior Court and District Court. Because courthouse and jury room sizes are limited, additional facilities will be used to ensure juror safety.     The four member Wahkiakum Mules Cross Country team traveled to Rainier last Thursday to compete in a 5,000 meter race with five other schools. For the girls, senior Ellie Wiltse-Hiatt took third in a field of 14 runners with a time of 24:19. Junior Kimberlee Watkins finished in 12th place with a time of 36:35 and sophomore Kamryn Watkins came in 14th place with a time of 42:03.
