Plans for Puget Island bridge work are coming together, according to Tamara Greenwall from the Washington State Department of Transportation. The bridge will be closed at night when crews are at work. A start date has yet to be determined, as well as the exact overnight hours that the bridge will need to be closed, but the project should take no more than 80 days. The Wahkiakum Mules girls basketball team began district play this week. The opening round was scheduled for Monday, but the games were postponed twice due to snow. As of Tuesday night, the Lady Mules game against Pe Ell was set for Wednesday at 7 p.m. at home. The Lady Mules finished their regular season undefeated. Though they ultimately lost, they put up a fight in the second half of the game, coming back from a 17 point deficit, to pull ahead momentarily and then lose 60-62 to Mossyrock.
