    The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) is seeking public comments on proposed recommendations for 2020-2021 hunting seasons. From Feb. 6 through Feb. 26, WDFW will accept written public comments to help finalize hunting rules and regulations proposed for the upcoming year.     JoAnn Nicotera Mott was born on May 10, 1947 in Utica, New York. She passed at the age of 72 in Vancouver, WA on December 27, 2019, with family by her side.     Franklin "Buzz" Moore passed away, surrounded by his loving family, on January 27, 2020 in Longview, Washington. He was 88 years old. Buzz was born March 29, 1931 in McKenna, Washington to Thomas and Edna (Martineau) Moore. He grew up in a large family, the 7th of 13 children. Growing up, his family lived in the small towns of National and Ashford in Pierce County. He attended Ashford School and Eatonville High School.     The Wahkiakum Mules boys basketball team finished their regular season this week with two wins and one loss. Last Wednesday, they traveled to Onalaska and lost to the Loggers 73-56. "We played well for three quarters on both ends versus a tough and physical Onalaska team," Coach Todd Souvenir said, "but in the fourth we had too many turnovers, which led to easy transition buckets for them."     The Wahkiakum Mules girls basketball team split games this week, with a tough loss on Thursday and an easy win on Monday. The team hosted Toledo on Thursday, and lost to the Indians 53-48.     Wahkiakum wrestlers spend most of their season on the road. This weekend was no different. The girls joined 15 other teams at a tournament in Auburn called Athena’s Pageant on Saturday. Makayla Davis was the only one to medal, taking third in her class. Meanwhile, the boys traveled that day to Vancouver for the Kingsway Tournament.     The Washington Medical Commission (WMC) has been alerted that scam artists are calling clinics, Dr. offices and pharmacies posing as the WMC or medical board. These scam artists have increased the deceptiveness of the tactics by using direct phone numbers to WMC staff. The callers usually say a complaint has been opened on the physician or pharmacist.
