    Many Washington teens will start school unprotected from some diseases, including the cancer causing human papillomavirus (HPV), according to the state Department of Health (DOH). Only 12.5 percent of teen boys and 45 percent of teen girls had all three doses of the HPV vaccine, according to the 2013 National Immunization Survey for teens. There are two HPV vaccines.
