  • 2021 Horse Gaming Series

    Valerie Antijunti|Sep 30, 2021

We are now half way through this year's Silver Buckle Series. It was nice to see two new riders in the lead line class; they are our future gamers. This week in the lead line class we had newcomers Eleana Soka and Madi De Moss and returning rider Sawyer Peek. If you have never watched a lead line class, you should come out this Saturday and watch these little riders. In the 12-18 year old class: 1. Adri Cram, Winlock; 2. Maddie Thoreson, Cathlamet; 3. Hannah Larsen, Longview; 4. Kat Hammill, Castle Rock. In the 19-35 year old class the winners...

First I would like to thank all of the riders for coming to our August 7 and September 11 gaming shows. you all did a great job, good rides. We hope to see you on September 25 for show #3. This year was a bit of a surprise. Last year due to covid, we were unable to run the Silver Buckle Series, so I have not seen our riders in two years. The surprise is that all of our Pee Wee riders (11 years old and under) are now riding in the 12-18 year old age group. To add to the surprise we have had five...

  • 2021 Horse Gaming Series

    Valerie Antijunti|Aug 26, 2021

It has been two years since our last show, due to covid. It was so nice to see everyone again. We had a very nice turnout of 16 riders. Nine of those riders also rode in the 50/50 Texas Barrels jackpot. To have 16 riders when there were two other shows going on the same day was very good indeed. As it was set up this year you had to ride in all five shows to qualify for the series high point award. Because we had no riders in the Pee-wee class and also no riders in the 36 and over class, those riders will just have to ride in the next four...

  • Horse Gaming Series

We have an exciting Silver Buckle series planned for 2020. With the continued help of our arena master, Mike Doan, we have more improvements planned for the arena this year. With the help of Chuck and Cindy Cram, WAHSET coaches from Longview/Kelso, we have made improvements to our line up of events and our equipment. Kay and Patty advised me that the Silver Buckle series would have to purchase their own timing equipment for the 2020 series season. They advised that the equipment we had been using would not be available in 2020. This has worked...

The fourth show of the series had a good turn out. We had a couple of new riders, lots of returning riders and ties in two age groups. We had two new riders in the Pee Wee Class, Kaitlyn Jessee and Whitney Ellenbolt, both from Kelso. A new rider in the novice class was Jessi Harmon, and we welcomed back Baily McKinley. Placings for the show are as follows: Pee Wee: 1. Kaitlyn Jessee, 2. Abby Doan, 3. Tru Most and 4. Whitney Ellenbolt. There was a tie for second place, between Abby Doan and Tru Most. We did a polo run to break the tie. These...

After the accidental flooding of the arena two weeks ago, we were able to run the third show in the series. We had a very nice turn out with 21 riders in attendance. Results are as follows: Pee Wee 11 and under: 4. Whitney Ellenbolt, 3. Kaitlyn Jessee, 2. Tru Most and 1. Abby Doan. It is a very close race between Abby Doan and Tru Most for first place. We really want to keep and eye on them. A very strong contender for 2. is Kaitlyn Jessee. She is new to our series, this being her first year. Watch out Abby and Tru, Kaitlyn is coming on...

  • Horse gaming riders enjoy improved footing

    Valerie Antijunti|Jun 27, 2019

We had a very good turn out for our second gaming show, 22 entries for the six events. We also had 10 entries for the Texas Barrels 50/50 jack pot. We made over $700. That money will go into improving our arena. The weather was perfect, and with the 30 yards of screened dirt that we added to the arena, the footing was improved, which shows in the improved times. Results are as follows: PeeWee (11& under) 1. Abby Doan won a head stall, 2. Sophia Bitner won a feed dish, 3. Kaitlyn Jessee won a fleece throw and 3. Tru Most won saddle soap. 12-18...

The Silver Buckle gaming series first show went well. Hopefully you all read the results and saw how well our local riders did. Here is some great news about the arena that will be welcome information for horse gamers and those horse people that have a gate, so that you can practice for horse shows, gaming shows, or just ride out of the rain: We will be getting 30 yards of screened, fill dirt in the arena today (Thursday). Mike Doan, our arena man from Long Beach, is planning on getting in there on Friday or Saturday, to start working on the...

  • Horse Gaming Series Update

    Valerie Antijunti|Feb 14, 2019

I will start by answering some questions I received. 1. If I paid $30 to ride in the six events, why do I have to pay $3 for a time only event? Time only events are really just a warm up for you and your horse. We've seen horses go off course, resulting in a no time for the horse and rider. This happens usually because the horse spooks or refuses to do an event the first time. By buying a time only ticket, you can do a practice run first. 2. What if I buy time only tickets and don't use them all on that date? Any unused tickets can be used for...
