    To The Eagle: The WSU Extension Nutrition Education Program would like to thank the Wahkiakum School District, Garden Mentor Team, local farms, and businesses, for the opportunity to bring local foods to the students of Julius A. Wendt Elementary School and John C. Thomas Middle School over the past few months.     The WSU Wahkiakum Extension Nutrition Education Program will host a one time Farmers Market for the students at Wahkiakum School District. The event is a partnership of the JA Wendt Elementary School, the John C. Thomas Middle School, and the Parent Teacher Organization. The event will be held September 23 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. This is a no cost event for students. Farmers will be donating samples of what they grow for the students and staff.
