    WOW! It is the middle of October already; if you haven't cashed your fair premium check please do so as soon as possible, as they are void after 45 days. Soon the fairgrounds will be very spooky. Jason Rainey and his crew are putting the haunted house together. Soon the flyers will be up and around town. The cost of the haunted house is $3 per person or if you would like to bring three non perishable food items you can enter for $1. All food donated will go to the local food banks.     Greetings from the fair office! All fair premium checks have been mailed. You have 45 days to cash them or they will be void. Thank you to all the exhibitors who entered at the fair. The fair board paid 28 cents per point this year. I would like to let you know of some events the fair will be having in the next few months. On October 30 and 31 we will hold our first annual "Haunted House" at the fairgrounds, also on October 30, we will be having a Halloween Carnival.     WOW! The fair has been here and gone, I hope everyone who attended had a good time. I heard the kids had a lot of fun walking on the water in the balls. It looked fun. Thank you to all the vendors who were at the fair this year; hope to see you all back next year. Congratulations to Abbie Eaton for being crowned the 2014 Wahkiakum County Fair Queen.     It's the final count down until fair. The fair grounds are looking great thanks to the many volunteers who showed up to help out at the clean up day. A big thank you to all of you. At this time next week the fair will be under way. So here is a quick reminder that entries start coming in on Sunday, August 10, the granges will get their booths put together.     Animal entries are in and it looks like we have good numbers, and yes we have some cows in the cow barn. Soon the Superintendents will be working hard to get the buildings and barns ready as fair is coming fast. We still have some open spaces on the gates; if you are interested in volunteering a couple hours let me know. The T-Building is getting ready to be painted, so it will have a face lift for the fair.     Wow, we only have three weeks until fair! Animal entries are due by July 25. You can mail them to the fair or drop them by the office. I hope everyone enjoyed Bald Eagle Day. The Fair Royalty was busy selling fair passes, raffle tickets and doing their own fund raisers. The Fair t-shirts have arrived and are for sale in the fair office.     Greetings from the Fair office. The Fair Board has picked the 2014 Fair Theme: Red, White and Moooo! I will be in the Fair office Monday, Tuesday and Friday from 3 to 6 p.m. The Easter Bingo was a success. I would like to thank everyone who donated raffle items or their time.     Wow, Fair is here. I hope everyone will come out and see all the changes we’ve made at the fairgrounds. The cow barn has been painted inside thanks to Kelly. All the tables and benches have been painted by Janelle. That was a lot of painting, and it looks great. Thank you to both of you. The Fair Foundation painted the youth building floor.     Wow what a great turn out for the clean up day at the fairgrounds. I had around 35 volunteers and four fair board members. I would like to thank each and every one of them for their time.
