WET BEGINNING--As this week began, it was soggy on Sunday and made for a miserable day if you had to be outside for any reason. However, it was a perfect day for getting Christmas cards made out, as it's important to mail things early. In our area, we need more letters going out so we can keep this post office open. NICE ENDING--As last weekend came to an end, we woke to a very frosty world with temperatures in the lower 20s--brr! In spite of the cold, it was very sunny and dry, so that part of it was good. Forecasters are saying we're in for a couple of blustery days prior to your getting this, so I hope they were wrong and we came through with nothing more than a bit of normal wind and rain. NOT TOO NICE--Last weekend was definitely a cold, wet and blustery one, which brought down a lot of the leaves that had been making the hillsides so pretty. NOT BAD--As this work week started we had a mostly nice day, as only a few showers came down here and there. HALF AND HALF--It was a so-so weekend with a soggy Saturday but a suitable Sunday; not exactly a sunny day but at least it wasn't raining, which made some outside work possible. NICE--It's been a pretty decent weekend as we had a drying trend show up that helped brighten everyone's spirits, I bet. I think it also brought out everybody's lawn mowers one more time and hopefully the last. WET WET--It looks like we've got a wet week ahead of us with mist, drizzle, light showers, showers or rain in the forecast, which in layman's terms just means wet! We did have part of our weekend fairly dry, so it wasn't too bad. RAIN--We ended last week with some rain and began the week with showers, plain ole rain and some good, gusty winds, which brought down a lot of leaves along the roadways; definitely seemed more like Fall! I'd just about forgotten how miserable it can be tromping around in a parking lot in the rain! The good news out of the rainy stretch was that it sure helped calm down those fire fears, as things were tinder dry out there. WARM WEEKEND--After some rain last weekend, it looks like things are heating up this week and it will feel more like Summer than most of Summer felt. NICE STREAK--It seems summer finally arrived, just in time for the kids to go back to school. Football and Fall are heading our way, as the sun has been shining and the temperatures rising. COOLER/STILL NICE--As this work week began, a few clouds rolled in and we had a couple of spritzes of rain, but after a little of the same on Monday, we saw sunshine and it was a pretty decent day. DRIPPY BEGINNING--This work week is beginning a little damp, not making any hay-makers happy, but my lawn is probably thrilled as it was looking a little parched. The full week of dry weather that some forecasted fell apart as a weak system came in and gave us some heavy cloud cover Sunday evening and this light rain Monday morning. LOOKING GOOD--This is it! Wahkiakum County Fair time and it starts today (Thursday) which is Senior Citizens Day until 4 p.m. From all weather reports I'm seeing, we should have some very nice weather for the fair; that would be great! SUMMER?--Last week was a mixed bag of weather but for a good deal of it, the theme was gray! We've had the sea fog and misty conditions for several mornings so it hasn't looked too much like summer until the latter part of the day when the sun finally shows up.
