On Wednesday, October 11, students participating in the Wahkiakum High School FFA held their first ever dinner and auction of the year. The students had several goals with the dinner: First and foremost, it was a great opportunity to teach the students leadership, organizational skills and planning techniques that are required in order to put a moderately large event together. Wahkiakum students Teylor Sauer, Laila Abdul-Kariem, Jordyn Keithley Watson, Randall Ecklund, Shantelle Shurvey, Shelby McEneny, and Myron Will went to the Washington State FFA dairy judging contest last Saturday. Shantelle placed first overall out of about 60 contestants with Laila following in third and Jordyn placing fifth. Special thanks to Myron's mom, Sharla Will, and Shelby's mom, Sherry McEneny, for aiding in the contest and transporting them all the way to Puyallup.
