Established as The Skamokawa Eagle in 1891
Library customers can now return books and movies any time of day or night rather than waiting until the library is open.
Thanks to local residents Michelle and John Wisner, Cathlamet Library has a like-new book return. The Wisners completely overhauled the old red box by repainting it, removing rust and dents, repairing the interior mechanisms and making a new cushion. A new box, which costs approximately $3000, was not in the budget.
The library is open Tuesday and Friday from 2-5 p.m. and Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday from 1-4 p.m. The book drop is located at the temporary library site at 25 River Street. It will be moved back to 100 Main Street when the remodel is completed.
